Volunteering and community work

50 Robin Hood Army drives, volunteering at city events like the Hyderabad Monsoon Run, temple festivals and CPR training.

Showing up for people

Some of the most useful things I do have nothing to do with a screen. They mostly involve turning up, regularly, and doing whatever the day needs.

Robin Hood Army drives in Hyderabad

Every week, or at least once a month. On food drives we serve meals to families who need them. On teaching drives we spend time with children who don't go to school, teach them the basics, and talk to their parents about enrolling them.

  • Temple volunteering

    Festivals, ongoing

During Ganesh Chaturthi and Dasara I help with arrangements and serving devotees when the crowds are at their biggest.

  • Hands-only CPR training

    1 Feb 2026

At Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad. Theory first, then practice on training manikins.

  • Inter School Recycling Championship

    2018

An ITC and GHMC initiative. I exchanged 7.3 kg of dry waste, old books and paper.

  • Freedom Ride, Atlanta Foundation

    Aug 2017

A community cycling ride at Gachibowli Stadium in support of education.

City runs, from both sides of the barrier

I take part in community runs, and I've also helped run one. Sometimes I'm a participant, sometimes I'm the person keeping the route clear.

Hyderabad Monsoon Run 2026

Traffic and route support

I volunteered at the Hyderabad Monsoon Run in the HITEC City area, helping with traffic control and keeping movement along the route organised. A small part of a large community event, but a meaningful one to be part of.

The official event poster. I was on the route as a volunteer, not a runner.

Pink Power Run 2026

  • 5KFinisher
  • 41:24Recorded time

A city-wide run for breast cancer awareness, a month after I helped manage the route at the Monsoon Run. I ran it for the cause, not for a time.

Race context

The certificate records 41:24. Event organisers later communicated that the course measured approximately 5.8 km, and the event used a mass-start timing system. With a crowded starting area, the recorded time is not directly comparable to a chip-timed individual 5K.
